Dear Diary,

Today is the Lantern Festival, also known as the Yuanxiao Festival. I had a lot of fun celebrating it with my classmates in school.

First, we made lanterns using colored paper and glue. We drew beautiful designs on the lanterns and hung them up in the classroom. They looked so pretty when the lights were turned off.

In the afternoon, we had a special assembly where everyone performed different traditional activities. There were lion dances, dragon dances, and even a talent show. I sang a traditional song with my friends and we received applause from the audience.

After the assembly, we got to eat yuanxiao, sweet sticky rice balls that are a special food for this festival. They were delicious and I ate so many of them!

Overall, it was a joyful and meaningful day. I enjoyed learning more about the Lantern Festival and celebrating together with my friends. I can't wait for the next festival!
